In January 2007, a Design Development presentation was made by SHW Group, LLP Architects, Inc. to the Board for the final design of Elementary School No. 49, which will be located on Westfield Village Road, west of Fry Road with an opening date of August 2008.
The design of this facility is based on CFISD’s Andre´ Elementary School. This new facility will serve pre-kindergarten through 5 th grade, and is a one-story building totaling approximately 98,417 square feet. The elementary school site will include play fields with a gravel walking track and space for junior soccer fields.
In February 2007, the Board approved the construction contract award in the amount of $11,442,000 for the construction of Elementary School No. 49. The execution of the plat was approved by the Board in March.

Elementary No. 49 was named Robinson Elementary School after Mary Williams Robinson. Robinson worked in the district for 33 years. She was a school nurse at Bane and Post elementary schools, Dean Junior High School and Jersey Village High School. She was named as the director of health services in 1973 while serving as the school nurse for Jersey Village. In 1974, she became the full-time director of health services. Robinson was actively involved in the Texas School Nurse Association and the District School Nurse Association before retiring in May 1996. Robinson and her husband, Don, have three children—Karen, Janet and Donna—who are all Cy-Fair High School graduates. Robinson Elementary School is under construction on Westfield Village Drive, and is scheduled to open in August 2008. |
