Parking Lot
We are beginning the process of re-painting all our student parking lots. For the least amount of disruption, the painting will occur in the late afternoon and early evening. So, adjustments have to be made. From May 13th through May24th, all student vehicles must be removed from the student lots by 4:30pm. Remember you have always had permission to park in a staff spot at 2:45pm, except in the bus area.
And, in this re-painting, previous errors made on the pavement will be corrected. Students whose parking spots are numbered 267 thru 750 will have been shifted. Each morning during the next two weeks or so, as you return to school, make sure you are parking in the right spot. The new numbers should be clearly visible. If you have any questions, see Ms. Bettis during any lunch in the patio.
Final Exams
NO student may take a final before the scheduled time of that exam. If a student misses an exam, s/he will receive a 0, but have a chance to make it up in the summer. We collect finals for students who are absent and keep them in the counseling office. Just please try to be sure your child misses NO exams. No flights or vacations should be scheduled until after Wednesday, June 5 @ 11:30am. June 3,4,5 are early release days @ 11:30am .
Buses will not run until 1:00pm and we will not be serving lunch these days. Teachers will be grading exams and submitting final grades so students will only be permitted to sit in the cafeteria area to wait for buses. Ideally, students should make arrangements leave campus at 11:30am.
Exemptions
We will begin handing out exemption cards on May 22, May 23, May 24 and May 28. Exemption cards are due back to the Associate Principal's Office by 3 PM on May 29. All fines and fees need to be cleared before picking up an exemption card.
Eligible students will have the opportunity to exempt 1 or more exams in classes in which they have an 80+ for the semester and 3 or fewer absences (no outstanding fees & fines, no suspensions, no ALC). Students may choose to exempt the same course they selected in the fall. There used to be a "no repeat" rule, but that is long gone.
9th- up to 1 exam, 10th- up to 2 exams, 11th – up to 3 exams , 12th- up to 7 exams
11th graders have the opportunity to earn 4 additional exemptions based upon TAKS passing scores. That option does not apply to TAKS retesters, but only to the first time TAKS takers. EOC does not award additional exemptions. EOCs are administered later than TAKS and the scores come after Final Exams begin.

VOE
If your student is in need of a Verification of Enrollment (VOE), it is their responsibility to come by the principal’s office and sign up for one. Parents are not to call in for a VOE. The student will not be given a VOE the same day they sign up for one. Please allow a one day turnaround. VOE’s are based on the student’s attendance from the previous semester. If your student had excessive absences from the previous semester, he/she will not be able to get a VOE until the excessive absences have been made up, or he/she has come to school for an entire semester without excessive absences. This is a state law and there are no exceptions.
Policy from the Finance Office
