How We Got Our Name

Labay Middle School is named for Allen F. Labay, who devoted 38 years to education and 27 years in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Labay was superintendent of schools when Labay Junior High was built. He led the District during rapid growth, launching our community into future successes in education.  Labay was superintendent of schools when Labay Middle School was built.  Although he passed away on March 12, 2006, Mr. Labay was always devoted to excellence in education.
