Important Attendance Notes

If students miss any part of the school day (1st period only, 1st - 3rd period, 7th period only, etc.) students are required by law to bring a note within 3 days of the absence to the attendance office.  The Compulsory School Attendance law mandates that students be in class 90% of the time.  Each class period is counted separately for both exemption and excessive absences purposes.  Please refer to HB - 8 thorugh HB - 10 for more details.

Students that may miss 1st period....pay attention!!!  You are still required to bring a note to school explaining why you were absent 1st period/late to school.  An un-excused absence (U) is better than skipping (SK) and will keep you from visiting with your assistant principal and getting the opportunity to also visit Saturday D-hall.  Get to school on time.  If you are late for whatever reason, bring a parent/guardian note.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell PhoneAll cell phones must be powered off during the instructional day -- not simply put on silent mode -- from 7:25 - 2:30. Parents needing to contact their son/daughter immediately should call the main office at 713-896-3400. We will send an instant written message or retrieve a student from class to call home in case of an emergency.

Students talking to or texting parents are still subject to cell phone confiscation if that is done between 7:25 - 2:30. A $15 administrative fee will be assessed for all infractions. Fees should be paid with cash, money orders or cashier checks only. No personal checks will be accepted.
