There have been a few inquiries regarding House Bill 5 which was passed during the 83rd Legislative Session. House Bill 5 includes new graduation requirements for all students entering high school in fall of 2014 and beyond (current 8th grade – graduating class of 2018). The new graduation requirements removes the current minimum and recommended plans and requires a foundation program AND five endorsements from which a student may select one or more. The Texas Education Agency has made the new graduation plan optional for all current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.
For more information, please click on the Graduation Plan Letter from Mr. Funk explaining in more detail the impact of the new requirements. Other documents that offer additional information about the Endorsements and State Requirements are also provided.
