Jersey Village High School Band

| This year (2006-2007), the band has about 175 students, and is under
the direction of Head Director Denis Kidwell, and Assistants Robert Carlin
and Laura Buntin. They are also assisted by the percussion specialists Johnathan
Carr and John MacDonald. |
| In the Fall, the band marches at all Varsity football games,
and also attends UIL competitions. Last Fall (2006), the band advanced to
the finals at UIL Area out of approximately 30 schools, and of the top seven
at finals, we placed fifth. |
| In the Spring, students divide into three competing bands: Symphonic I,
Symphonic II, and Concert I. With these bands, they perform at such events
as the Chili Supper and the Spring Concert, as well as performing at UIL
events and at the South Coast Music Festival in Corpus Christi. |
| Students in the Falcon Band also have the oppurtunity to compete and perform
individually. In the Fall, students compete in All Region Band and Orchestra
contests, and in the Spring, they are able to perform in the UIL Solo and
Ensemble Contest. In each of these, band members represent their school
proudly by achieving success at the highest levels. |
