High School Laptop Project
2009-2010

Whether our graduates enter the workforce or go on to college, their experience will very likely include working with technology. The High School Laptop Project (HSLP) is intended to prepare our graduates for this experience by providing one year of technology-intensive coursework, building technology competencies so that they are prepared for the next phase of their lives. This program will be structured around the United States History course, which is taken by mostly eleventh grade students. Each student would be assigned a laptop computer for use at school and at their homes, allowing the students to complete coursework, review course materials, collaborate with teachers and other students, as well as use the Internet and other network resources.

Although HSLP would be new to the district, there are many similar programs, some much more pervasive, which have been implemented throughout the state and nation.
