Campus Goals
The priority goals for Hamilton Elementary are student growth and development and closing the achievement gap so that all students achieve their full educational potential. In addition, we strive to develop student competencies identified in the "Portrait of a CFISD Graduate" which are: an effective communicator, competent problem-solver, self-directed learner, responsible citizen, and quality producer. We focus on providing a safe, learning environment for our students and one in which our parents feel welcomed and involved.
Curriculum - Elementary
- CFISD elementary schools are comprised of students in grades K-5. Students who qualify for the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities or for Pre-kindergarten are bused to sites that provide these programs.
- Core subjects at the elementary level include reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technology applications, health, physical education, art, music, and theatre arts.
- Every campus faculty includes the following members: counselor(s), nurse, diagnostician, speech and language clinician, dyslexia specialists, reading specialist(s), and content-area liaisons, as well as specially trained/certified teachers in the following areas: art, music, physical education, technology applications, English as a Second Language, and gifted education.
- The District's HORIZONS program is for academically-gifted students. In kindergarten, gifted instruction is provided in language arts and mathematics. In grades 1-5, the program addresses the four foundation areas: language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- CFISD's Bilingual and ESL programs provide additional support in English language development for students who have a home language other than English and who have been identified as limited-English-proficient.
- Elementary schools in Cypress-Fairbanks also feature enrichment activities such as student clubs, tutorial sessions, cultural arts programs, academic competitions, and field trips.
- Report cards are issued every nine weeks. Academic progress reports are sent to parents after the fourth week of each grading period.

How We Got Our Name
Hamilton is named after Fred and Louise Hamilton who together have 52 years of classroom teaching service in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Fred was the science department chairman at Cy-Fair High School, and Louise was the social studies department chairwoman at Cy-Creek High School, Arnold, and Bleyl Junior High Schools.
PTO
The Hamilton Elementary PTO is made up of resourceful and productive parents, teachers, and community members. We have a very active group of approximately 460 volunteers. The organization meets monthly and provides the school with cultural arts activities and field trips, organizes volunteers, sponsors various student events, provides classroom tutoring and conducts fund-raisers, which have provided technology, landscaping, books, and playground equipment. For more information, please contact the school.

VIPS
Hamilton has a strong parent volunteer program for which we are very proud. Our volunteers are seen helping in science enrichment classes; tutoring students; preparing materials for teachers; mentoring at-risk students; organizing homeroom parties, field trips, and field day events; helping with Junior Achievement lessons; assisting in the computer lab, clinic, and library; and many other worthwhile activities. Volunteer parents are very important at Hamilton, and their involvement is both welcomed and appreciated!
