9th graders will have the opportunity to earn 1 regular exemption in addition to 2 TAKS exemptions in courses related to ELA and math as long as they pass their TAKS tests.
10th graders will have the opportunity to earn 1 regular exemption in addition to 4 TAKS exemptions in courses related to ELA, math, science, and social studies as long as they pass their TAKS tests.
• Regular exemptions require 3 or fewer absences and an 80 or above semester average. Also, students cannot receive a “U” for conduct and/or have suspensions.
• TAKS exemptions require 3 or fewer absences and a 70 or above semester average for both semesters.
• If students have 2 Math or 2 Science courses, they must choose 1 to use under the TAKS exemption and may use one under the regular exemption.
• No student may exempt if they are on the fines and fees list.
