The
Pantera Dance/Drill Team is recognized for its innovative
choreography, beautiful high kicks, and undying school spirit.
The team performs at every half-time during football season,
at pep rallies, at a minimum of two contests per year, during
community events and at their own Spring Show. Drill team
is a year-round commitment that keeps its members very busy.
The Panteras take pride in their commitment to teamwork,
self-discipline, excellence in dance and high academic achievement.
Dance I is the recommended preparation course for students
with little or no dance experience prior to tryouts. Tryouts
are held in December for the next school year. Students wishing
to try out must have the grade point average and conduct
reports stipulated by the Pantera Constitution, and new members
must enroll in a required dance class second semester after
tryouts. The team meets daily in class and for two-hour practices
after school. There are occasional night practices, summer
practices and minimal Saturday practices. Being a member
of the Panteras is exciting, memorable, valuable and important
in the development of a student's character. |
