The mission of Science Olypiad is to promote and improve student interest in science and to improve the quality of science education throughout the nation. They strive to promote partnerships among community, businesses, industry, government and education.

Students in Science Olympiad also participate in tournaments throughout the year. The purpose of the tournaments is to develop teamwork and cooperative learning strategies among students.
