Delta Epsilon Phi s a nationally recognized German honor society similar to NHS (National Honor Society) which honors students in German classes. The Cypress Springs chapter, Texas Epsilon Theta, is open to student who have had at least three semestesr of German. Qualifying students must maintain a 3.6 our of 4.0 (or "A" average) in german classes and a 3.0 out of 4.0 (or "b" average) in all other classes. In addition to academic excellence, qualifying members of the honor society must attend regional and state German competitions, demonstrate honorable character and behavior, and be in a German class throughout their high school careers. A list of expectations to be fulfilled by qualifying students is available from the German teacher. Graduating seniors receive honor cords and gold foil seals for their diplomas.
