Cypress Springs' cheerleaders promote school spirit and attendance at school sporting events. They cheer at various games, organize pep rallies, paint spirit signs throughout the year and participate in three community service projects. Tryouts are held in March or April of each school year. Freshman and sophomores are eligible to try out for the Junior Varsity squad; sophomores and juniors are eligible for Varsity cheerleader. Candidates must have an overall 2.5 GPA and excellent conduct marks. Enthusiasm is a plus as well. Additional requirements for tryouts are available from the sponsor. Practices are held 1-3 days a week after school, and gymnastics 1 day per week after school.
