Claudio Garcia, Principal of Cypress Ridge High School, is originally from the Corpus Christi area. Mr. Garcia received his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Texas A&I University in 1973. He received his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Mr. Garcia was a teacher and an athletic coach for 16 years, before starting his administrative career. During the first part of his career in education he taught Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, Honors Biology, Biology II, Health, Fundamentals of Math, and Consumer Math. Mr. Garcia also coached football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. His career in educational administration began in 1988 as an Assistant High School Principal. Since that time he has served as a Middle School Principal and High School Principal. Mr. Garcia was the High School Principal at Calallen High School in Corpus Christi prior to being named Principal of Cypress Ridge High School. Mr. Garcia has two daughters, Veronica of San Antonio, Texas, and Mindy of Alice, Texas.

Irene Herring has been with the Cypress Fairbanks School District for 19 years. Before coming to Cypress Ridge HS she worked at Bane Elementary, Metcalf Elementary and Campbell Middle School. Mrs. Herring was born in Germany and graduated from Munich America HS. She and her husband have two grown children, Mitchell and Allison, and two wonderful grandchildren Peyton and Carter.
