Russell Holcombe
Director of Bands
Russell Holcombe is very proud to be named the Director of Bands at Cypress Ranch High School. He has been teaching in Cypress Fairbanks ISD for eighteen years. Holcombe opened Cypress Springs High School as the Director of Bands in 1997. Recently the Panther Band was named a winner in the 2007 National Wind Band Honors Project. He was one of fifteen recipients of the 2006 Denius UIL Sponsor Excellence Award in Texas. Prior to joining Cypress Springs, Holcombe was the original Associate Director at Cypress Falls High School. He began his teaching career working at Arnold Junior High and Cy-Fair High School in 1990.
"Being named the director at Cypress Ranch and starting the Mustang Band is going to be a lot of hard work, but also a lot of fun for all involved. I can't wait to get started on a tradition of Excellence," Holcombe said. "Working with Mrs. Medford and all of the new programs is a true honor."
