Debra Compton
Science Department Chair
Debra Compton received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Belhaven College in Jackson Ms and obtained a Master in Educational Technology and Cognitive Systems from the University of North Texas in 2003.
Mrs. Compton has taught a variety of science classes over the last 22 years including IPC, Chemistry and AP Chemistry. She began working for the district in 1989 at Cy-Fair High School and served as Science Department Chair from 2001-2007. She was chosen as spot light teacher in 2003.
Currently Mrs. Compton is working as a curriculum specialist in chemistry for the school district. As a curriculum specialist, she has gained valuable insight in best practices that will lead to student achievement. She is very determined to see students successful on science TAKS and later on, end of course exams. She is also excited about implementing 4x4 and developing advanced courses that will engage and challenge the student at Cypress Ranch High School.
