Matthew Wells
Science Department Chair

Matthew Wells received his Bachelor of Science in Tropical Environmental Science from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He recently completed his Master of Education in Secondary Science Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.

Mr. Wells has taught a variety of courses during his five years at Cypress Springs High School, including Biology and Environmental Science AP. He specializes in working with students on TAKS skills. Mr. Wells has also worked with students in Science Olympiad and has sponsored the Science National Honor Society.

Mr. Wells began teaching after years of doing ecological research. His studies included observations of fruitbats in Madagascar and giant otters in Guyana. We are fortunate that he came to Houston and will now chair the Science Department at Cy-Lakes.
