Janice McNeil
Media Specialist

Janice McNeil’s career in education began over thirty years ago in Richardson ISD. Mrs. McNeil taught social studies at Northwood Junior High for seven years and served as social studies Department Chair for five years. In 1983, she moved to Berkner High School, where she taught AP United States history, AP United States and comparative government, and on level government. She served as Head Coach of the Berkner Academic Decathlon team for five years, and, in 1990, was named Dallas Area Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year and winner of the University of Texas ExStudents Association Outstanding High School Teacher Award. Mrs. McNeil moved to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in 1991 to teach government and economics at Cy-Fair High School, and subsequently moved to Cypress Falls High School when that campus opened. In 2003, Mrs. McNeil joined the staff of Cypress Springs High School as a Library Media Specialist.

Mrs. McNeil earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her Master of Arts in Political science from Southern Methodist University, and her Master of Science in Library Information Science from the University of North Texas. She holds certifications to teach English and Social Studies, and certification as a Library Resource specialist.
