Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
Like BCIS I, BCIS II-MOS prepares juniors and seniors
to apply technology skills to personal and business
situations, but at a more advanced level. Students will
complete the course with a level of competency in word
processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation
applications that is expected in the world of business.
For a fee, students in this course have the option of
taking the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification
exams in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. This
certification is globally recognized as the standard for
demonstrating desktop skills with the Microsoft Office
♦ This course (full year) will satisfy the technology
applications course requirement for graduation.
♦ Recommended Prerequisite: Keyboarding and
BCIS I
♦ Keyboarding required for 10th graders

Business Computer Information Systems II Career Preparation
This course is for those students who are interested in
receiving on-the-job training in an office occupation.
BCIS-CP is a computer-based training program using
the Microsoft Office Suite. For a fee, students in this
course have the option of taking the Microsoft Office
Specialist (MOS) certification exams in Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Access. This certification is globally
recognized as the standard for demonstrating desktop
skills with the Microsoft Office Suite. Students combine
academic courses with hands-on work experience in
professional business offices. The instructor coordinates
all phases of the employment process.
♦ This course may waive 1 ½ credits of P.E.
♦ Recommended prerequisite: Keyboarding and
BCIS I
♦ Sixteen year olds with reliable transportation
