Copeland 3rd grade students cleaned, mulched and prepared the garden for winter planting. Students don't get play time when they are working in the garden. They spend their time learning about soil, seed germination and how different climates affect seed growth. They also learn a lot about butterflies and their migration habits. As a special treat, the students get to harvest and take home the "fruits" of their labor in the spring!
