Language Arts: Phonic Blends & Digraphs

We are currently learning the letter-sound assocications with common blends and clusters associated with the English language. Not only is this a critical tool for reading, but understanding common blends and digraphs also allows students to spell and speak the language efficiently.

We rotated in computer stations daily using a fun and exciting software called Phonics Express. This is an interactive software with sounds and visuals to making learning meaningful.




Third Grade
First Six Weeks

Science: Measurement We are currently learning to measure a variety of objects and the vocabulary associated with measurement. We're using the metric system of measurement, the most commonly used system around the world. Our students measured length, mass, and volume of objects. Students are investigating and measuring the length of objects using centimeters. They are manipulating the ruler on the smartboard, a fun and exciting way to learn using technology.

Second Six Weeks

Third Six Weeks

Social Studies: The Civil War We are currently learning the causes and results of the Civil War. Even though history is often difficult to understand or relate with, we had fun using technology in history! We created webs using a software called Kidspiration. This is an interactive program with sounds and visuals that incorporate cause and effect, a key reading objective. We were able to print off our webs and turn them in!
